Obverse description Bare-headed, laureate bust of Emperor Francis Joseph I facing left, rendered in high relief with finely engraved hair detail tied with a ribbon at the nape. The youthful effigy displays a plain truncation at the shoulder. The peripheral legend in Latin runs clockwise around the bust, separated by raised dots, with the mint letter 'A' (Vienna) positioned in the lower exergue below the bust.
