| Obverse description | Crowned and armored bust of Ferdinand I facing three-quarters to the right, holding an orb in his right hand, set within the inner circle of the coin. The king wears a jeweled crown and elaborate Renaissance court dress with detailed armor visible at the shoulder. A circular Latin legend surrounds the effigy, reading along the outer border of the coin in Gothic lettering. The portrait is rendered in the robust, high-relief hammered style characteristic of early Joachimsthal coinage. The field is slightly concave due to the hand-struck technique. |
