Eberhard Louis was eleven years old in 1695, ruling Württemberg under a regency council following his father's death the previous year. The duchy's coinage during this early regency period was administered largely by the privy council, making the precise authority behind individual minting decisions murky. Output was modest, and half thalers from this specific year turn up infrequently — Ebner's census work suggests the 1695 issues were struck in smaller numbers than the subsequent regency-period pieces as the new administration found its footing.
