Obverse description Draped bust of Karl Theodor, Elector Palatine, facing right, wearing a curled period wig and armored mantle with elaborate shoulder decoration. The effigy is rendered in high relief in the Baroque style. A circular Latin legend runs along the periphery, divided by the truncation of the bust at lower center. A small mint mark appears at the bottom of the field beneath the bust.

Reverse description Panoramic view of the city of Heidelberg depicted in fine engraved detail, showing the skyline with church spires, towers, and the castle on the hill above, with the River Neckar in the foreground including a boat with an anchor. Above the cityscape, a radiant sun emits long rays across the field, with a lion rampant to the upper right and a figure emerging from the solar orb. A circular commemorative Latin legend surrounds the entire central design, with the inscriptions HOMAG·HEIDELB and D·30·AUG appearing in the lower exergue area, referring to the homage ceremony held at Heidelberg on 30 August 1746.
