Obverse description Full-length facing figure of St. John the Baptist rendered in high relief within an inner beaded circle, flanked by the date divided at either side. The saint is depicted in traditional robes, and the surrounding Latin legend bearing the titles of Elector August I of Saxony runs within the outer border.

Reverse description Elaborate four-fold heraldic achievement within a beaded inner circle, featuring the quartered arms of Electoral Saxony with a central escutcheon bearing the Rautenkranz (rue crown) device. The upper quarter displays a crowned eagle, the lower quarters incorporate the Saxon barry with diagonal bend, and the whole composition is surmounted by an electoral bonnet. A Latin legend bearing the continuation of August I's titles runs within the outer border.
