| Obverse description | Half-length armoured and crowned bust of Emperor Ferdinand I facing right, enclosed within a beaded inner circle. The effigy depicts the emperor in elaborate plate armour with a crown, rendered in the detailed Renaissance style typical of Habsburg portraiture. The date 1559 appears vertically in the field before the bust. The outer legend, separated from the inner circle, carries the imperial titulature in Latin abbreviation. |

| Reverse description | Crowned double-headed imperial eagle displayed, with wings spread, bearing on its breast an escutcheon charged with the arms of Carinthia — a black panther on a gold field. An orb inscribed with the value 36 (Kreuzer) is placed below the shield at the base of the eagle. The imperial crown surmounts both heads of the eagle. The encircling legend continues the royal and archducal titulature of Ferdinand I in abbreviated Latin. |
