Obverse description Detailed panoramic cityscape of Regensburg occupying the central field, depicting the skyline with numerous Gothic church towers and spires, fortified walls, and the famous stone bridge (Steinerne Brücke) spanning the Danube River in the middle ground, with boats visible on the water below. The engraver's initials G.C.B. appear in the lower exergue beneath the date 1782, with the denominational inscription XX. ST. EINE F.C.M. (20 pieces to the fine Cologne Mark) on a raised tablet above. The circumferential legend MONETA REIP RATISPON arcs along the upper border in Latin capitals, identifying this as a coin of the Republic of Regensburg. The overall composition is executed in fine relief, characteristic of the skilled hand of obverse engraver Georg Christoph Busch. The coin is bordered by a continuous inner toothed or beaded rim.
