| Obverse description | Central composition of three ornate heraldic shields arranged in a triangular grouping: the uppermost shield bears a displayed double-headed imperial eagle, flanked on either side by laurel branches; the lower-left shield displays a diagonal banded pattern with ornamental scrollwork, and the lower-right shield depicts a cross and an armored hand, these being the traditional arms of Schwäbisch Hall. The mintmaster's initials PGN appear in the field between the lower shields. The circular Latin legend runs along the inner border of the reeded rim. |
