Additional information

Henneberg-Ilmenau was a fractured inheritance held jointly by the Wettin dukes of Saxony by the late seventeenth century, with administrative and minting rights carved up through successive partition agreements. The 1699 date places this piece in the final years before the county's minting activity effectively ceased, making late issues like this relatively scarce survivors of a jurisdiction that was already economically and politically marginal.

Müseler 56.6/21 is a recognized variety within a small series; collectors should verify the die alignment carefully against the reference, as related types from this period are frequently confused in trade.
