Obverse description Central ornate shield bearing the Frankfurt eagle (a single-headed eagle displayed) superimposed upon a large cross that fills the field, the arms of the cross extending nearly to the inner border. The design is executed in high relief with fine detail on the shield cartouche. A beaded inner border frames the composition, with the circular legend running between it and the coin's outer rim.
