Obverse description Bare-headed, armored bust of Henry II facing right, depicted with a short beard and wearing a ruffled collar over plate armor, rendered in the Renaissance portrait style. The effigy is set within an inner beaded circle, with the royal legend occupying the outer field. The king's hair is shown in loose curls, and the truncation of the bust extends to the lower rim of the inner circle.
