Reverse description Central device comprising the sloping heater-shaped shield of Savoy, bearing the white cross on a field, surmounted by a crested helm with elaborate lambrequins and mantling spreading to either side. Two Savoyard knots, the dynastic emblem of the House of Savoy, flank the helmet in the field at left and right. The entire heraldic composition is rendered in the late Gothic style characteristic of Savoyard coinage of the 1480s. The circular Latin devotional legend surrounds the design.
