Reverse description Reverse of this hammered copper half-tanka displays a two-line Arabic inscription divided by a horizontal line across the field, with the regnal date in Arabic numerals positioned in the upper register. The lower register contains additional Arabic legend identifying the ruler or mint authority, rendered in a bold, somewhat crude calligraphic style typical of late Sultanate of Gujarat copper coinage. The flan edges are irregular and the strike is slightly off-centre, consistent with hand-hammered production.
