Obverse description Hammered billon flan bearing a multi-line Arabic legend arranged in two registers, divided by a horizontal line across the field. The upper register contains the ruler's epithet and name, reading 'abu'l muzaffar mahmud shah khalji', while the lower register records the mint formula 'duriba bihadrat shadiabad', identifying the mint city of Shadiabad. The script is executed in a bold, angular Naskh style characteristic of Malwa Sultanate coinage, with the legend filling the entire flan to the irregular rim.
