| Obverse description | Central field displays the crowned heraldic lion of Guelders passant, rendered in low relief in the late medieval Gothic style, facing left with raised forepaw. The shield bearing the lion device is positioned centrally within an inner beaded circle. A globus cruciger or orb mint mark appears at the top of the field. The circumferential legend in uncial characters reads MONETA NOVA NOVIMAGEN (New Money of Nijmegen), separated by star stops, running between the inner and outer beaded borders of the coin. |
