Obverse description Denomination expressed as '1/2 S T' (half Stuiver) rendered in stylized script characters within a plain field. The lettering is boldly executed in a cursive or pseudo-Arabic style typical of VOC coinage produced at the Jaffna Mint for Ceylon, occupying the majority of the coin's surface. The flan is irregular and slightly squared at the edges, consistent with hammered copper coinage of the period.
