Reverse description A long cross with forked tips occupies the central field, with a double-headed eagle displayed at the intersection. The four angles of the cross are filled with alternating eagles and lions passant, arranged symmetrically. The Latin legend is divided by the arms of the cross and runs along the coin's periphery. The design reflects standard Low Countries civic coinage conventions of the late sixteenth century, combining imperial and civic heraldic motifs. The hammered strike results in a somewhat uneven flan, typical of this issue.
