Obverse description Armored and draped bust of Christian IV facing right, wearing an elaborate crown, rendered in high relief in the baroque style. Below the bust, within a cartouche, a three-line Latin inscription gives the king's name, titles, and the date 1646. The mint mark HK (for mintmaster Henrik Køller) appears below the cartouche. Encircling the upper field is the motto legend REGNA FIRMAT PIETAS, divided by the bust, with a beaded inner border and a milled outer rim.
