| Obverse description | Jody Clark's fifth definitive effigy of Queen Elizabeth II, depicting a right-facing crowned and draped bust of the Queen occupying the central field. The portrait is rendered in high relief in the proof finish. Two concentric circular legends surround the effigy: the outer legend reads ELIZABETH · II · DEI · GRA · REG · FID · DEF · 2022 · ALDERNEY C. I., while the inner legend carries the excerpt from the Coronation Oath THE THINGS WHICH I HAVE HERE BEFORE PROMISED I WILL PERFORM AND KEEP. SO HELP ME GOD, with the engraver's initials JC also present. |

| Reverse description | The reverse depicts Queen Elizabeth II seated in full regalia upon the Coronation Chair (St Edward's Chair) in Westminster Abbey, as rendered by engraver Jody Clark, commemorating her Platinum Jubilee marking 70 years on the throne. The enthroned figure is shown facing slightly to the viewer's left, robed and holding the orb and sceptre, with architectural details of the chair rendered in fine relief. The legend PLATINUM JUBILEE arcs across the upper field, divided left and right of the central design, while the denomination 1/2 SOVEREIGN appears along the lower exergual area. The engraver's initials JC are incorporated within the design. |

Alderney has no independent monetary authority in any practical sense — these issues are produced under licence and marketed as collectibles, with face values that bear no relationship to bullion content or circulation reality. The Platinum Jubilee series arrived in 2022 as part of an industry-wide commemorative push timed to Elizabeth II's 70th year on the throne, the longest reign in British history. She died in September of that year, making every jubilee-dated piece issued in 2022 inadvertently posthumous in character.
