| Obverse description | Uncrowned right-facing effigy of King Charles III after the portrait by Martin Jennings, depicting the King in a mature, naturalistic style with short hair and an open collar. The truncation of the bust is positioned at the lower centre of the field. The circular legend reads CHARLES III DEI GRA REX F D FALKLAND ISLANDS, separated by raised dots, with the date 2025 appearing in the lower exergual area below the portrait. A beaded border frames the entire obverse design. |

| Additional information |
The Falkland Islands retains the British monarch as head of state, making it one of a small number of territories outside the United Kingdom itself to issue coinage bearing Charles III's effigy from the outset of his reign. This piece takes the half sovereign format — historically a gold denomination — recast here in silver proof, a practice that began gaining traction across Commonwealth mints in the 1990s as bullion and collector markets diverged from circulating coinage economics.
