| Obverse description | Facing bust of Saint Mark the Evangelist in high relief, depicted in episcopal vestments and nimbus, centrally positioned within the coin field. The saint is shown in a frontal pose, with characteristic stylized drapery rendered in the Venetian hammered tradition. A circular Latin legend surrounds the bust, reading S·M·V·DOMIN·CON with the numeral 6 denoting the bagattini value. The overall design reflects the archaic, somewhat crude but distinctive coinage style of the mid-seventeenth-century Venetian mint. The coin shows typical irregular flan characteristics associated with hammered copper coinage of this period. |
