Reverse description A Mauritian Cross (cross of the Order of Saints Maurice and Lazarus) occupies the central field, rendered in low relief with splayed arms. The peripheral legend bearing the ruler's regnal number, abbreviated titles, and the mint date encircles the cross. The die work is characteristic of the hammered small billon coinage struck for the Duchy of Savoy during the mid-seventeenth century, with the date appearing as part of the circumferential inscription.
