| Obverse description | Crowned rectangular heraldic shield occupying the central field, bearing the Norwegian lion rampant crowned and holding a halberd, facing left, against a diaper background of vertical lines. The royal cipher of Carl XV — the conjoined letters CL= and XV — is inscribed to either side of the shield, serving as the principal legend. The entire design is enclosed by a raised beaded border at the rim. |
