Additional information

Carl XIV Johan — born Jean-Baptiste Bernadotte, a French marshal under Napoleon — had by 1832 been King of Sweden for over a decade, his reign a study in pragmatic reinvention. The small copper skillings of this period circulated heavily among Sweden's rural and working populations, and survivors in any condition above well-worn are genuinely scarce. The two-year window for this type reflects minor administrative adjustments to the copper coinage rather than any political rupture.
