Reverse description A standing eagle displayed facing left with one wing prominently raised, rendered in a stylised late antique manner typical of Odoacer's Milan mint coinage. A cross appears above the eagle, serving as a Christian emblem of imperial authority. The design occupies the full reverse field on an irregularly shaped hammered flan, with no exergual inscription. The eagle motif is characteristic of the barbarian successor coinage struck in the name of the Eastern emperor Zeno.
