Obverse description Draped and capped bust of Pope Pius VI facing right, wearing the camauro and richly ornamented cope with scrollwork decoration visible at the shoulder. The engraver's initials PT appear in the exergue below the bust truncation. The circular legend surrounding the effigy reads PIVS SEXTVS PONT MAX AN VIII, separated by star stops, denoting the pontiff's name, title, and regnal year.
