Reverse description A displayed imperial double-headed eagle with wings spread, each head crowned, occupying the central field. Upon the eagle's breast is superimposed a quartered heraldic shield bearing the arms of the Habsburg dynasty and the Duchy of Milan. A decorative branch or wreath element flanks the lower portion of the eagle. The peripheral legend SVVM • GVIQ3 (a contraction of SUUM CUIQUE, meaning 'To each his own') appears in Latin capitals around the coin, with a small ornamental stop. A crown surmounts the eagle's heads at the top of the design.
