| Reverse description | The reverse carries a multi-line Urdu inscriptional legend in a bold, deeply struck calligraphic hand, arranged in horizontal registers across the full field in a style consistent with Jaipur princely coinage of the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. The legend records the regnal year of Maharao-Raj Sawai Madho Singh II and incorporates the Jhar mint mark. The inscription reads in translation: 'In the 23rd year of the fortunate reign of Maharao-Raj Madho Singh.' No figurative elements are present; the design adheres entirely to the Indo-Persian epigraphic tradition, with the regnal year expressed in the Vikrama Samvat calendar as denoted by the julus dating system. |
