| Additional information |
Bindraban was among the smallest of the princely states to issue its own silver coinage, and the window for doing so was closing fast. The 1858–1859 dates place this issue directly in the aftermath of the Sepoy Mutiny and the formal transfer of Indian administration from the East India Company to the British Crown — a transition that prompted a systematic effort to absorb and eventually suppress local princely coinages across the subcontinent.
