Obverse description The obverse bears a bold multi-line Persian legend in Naskh-style Arabic script, arranged in three registers divided by horizontal ruled lines. The upper register contains a crescent motif flanked by portions of the royal titulature, while the central register carries the principal legend naming Shah Alam as emperor. A small floral or star ornament is visible within the central field. The lower register contains additional regnal text, with the overall composition characteristic of late Mughal hammered coinage produced under Bengal Presidency supervision.
