Obverse description Three lines of Bengali (Assamese) script inscription fill the central field of the octagonal flan, rendered in the characteristic bold raised lettering of Ahom coinage. The legends are arranged horizontally across the face in three registers. A border of raised pellets runs along the inner edge of all eight sides, framing the inscriptions. The style is typical of the hammered silver coinage issued under the Ahom kings of Assam.
