Additional information

Habibullah Kalakani held Kabul for less than nine months in 1929, having seized power from Amanullah Khan in January of that year. A Tajik brigand leader known as "Bacha-e Saqao" — son of a water-carrier — he was the first non-Pashtun ruler of Afghanistan in over two centuries. His coinage is sparse and hastily produced, a direct reflection of his chaotic tenure. He was captured and executed by Nadir Khan in October 1929.

A 1930 date on his issue is an anomaly worth noting — almost certainly a die or calendar conversion artifact, as Kalakani was dead before that year began.
