Reverse description A cross fleurée occupies the full field, with an eight-rayed central star at the intersection; in each of the four quarters, a passant lion to the left surmounted by a crown. The entire design is enclosed within a double octolobe of arches forming an ornate inner border. The city gate mintmark appears at the termination of the peripheral legend, which encircles the composition in Latin lettering.
