Obverse description A crowned and armored ruler stands erect within a ship facing the viewer, grasping an upright sword in the right hand and a heraldic shield bearing the provincial arms of Kampen in the left. On the ship's stern, a banner displaying a lion passant to the left is prominently rendered. The composition closely follows the medieval Rose Noble ship-type design, adapted for the civic coinage of Kampen. The peripheral legend in Latin is separated by pellet stops and reads MON · AVR · CIVI · CAMPEN · VALO · FLAN ·.
