Obverse description Central Burgundian cross with firesteels (flints) in each angle, bearing the jewel of the Order of the Golden Fleece suspended at its base. The cross divides the date 15-84 in the lateral fields. A crown surmounts the cross. The encircling Latin legend runs along the periphery within a beaded border, identifying the coin as a product of the Duchy of Guelders struck to the Burgundian standard.
