| Obverse description | The obverse is printed in dark brown on plain paper within a rectangular border composed of repeated 'MEDIO' lettering along all four margins. At the top, the bank name 'EL BANCO ARGENTINO' is set in bold letterpress type flanking a central circular vignette bearing the fraction '1/2'. A date inscription reading 'Rosario 1° Julio de 1869' appears to the upper right, with the denomination 'UN MEDIO REAL' rendered in a bold ornamental band across the centre.
