| Obverse description | Crowned enthroned figure of King Pedro IV facing, seated within a quatrefoil frame composed of four lobed arches, holding a sceptre in the right hand and an orb or shield in the left. A fleur-de-lis is visible in the upper-left lobe of the quatrefoil, with additional heraldic devices in the remaining lobes. The whole is set within a beaded inner circle, with the Latin legend surrounding the design in the outer field. |
