Reverse description Central field features a detailed Gothic castle with three towers, the heraldic emblem of the Kingdom of Castile, depicted with characteristic medieval style and placed within a quatrefoil inner border formed by four lobes. Below the castle, within the lower portion of the quatrefoil, the mint mark 'S' for Seville is clearly visible. A beaded circle separates the central design from the surrounding peripheral legend, which reads + IOHANIS REX CASTELLE, identifying the issuer as Johannes (Juan I), King of Castile. The entire composition is consistent with the standardized reverse design of Castilian half-real coinage of the late 14th century.
