Reverse description A plain cross pattee centered within a four-lobed Gothic quatrefoil, each lobe containing a small trefoil or quatrefoil floral ornament in the field, creating an elegant Gothic decorative composition. The cross divides the central design into four equal quadrants. A beaded inner circle borders the quatrefoil, beyond which the circular Latin legend IACOBVS DEI GRAC runs along the outer margin, identifying the issuing monarch.
