Obverse description Royal cypher of Felipe V (Philip V) composed of interlaced crowned Fs and Ps within the field of the cob flan. The monogram is characteristic of the macuquina (cob) coinage struck at the Lima Mint during the reign of Philip V, rendered in bold relief on the irregularly shaped planchet. Partial circular legend surrounds the central device, though typically incomplete due to the nature of cob striking. Mint initial and assayer letter appear in the field where the flan permits.
