Reverse description Bold cross potent with flared terminals occupies the central field, dividing the reverse into four quadrants alternately bearing the castles of Castile and the lions of León, consistent with the Spanish colonial royal arms as used on macuquina coinage of this period. Partial circular legend surrounds the cross, though only fragments are legible due to the irregular cob flan and off-center hammered strike. The overall design follows the standard type mandated for Mexican colonial half-real cob coinage under Felipe V.
