| Reverse description | Central field bears the quartered royal arms of Castile and Leon — displaying alternating castles and lions within a shield — surmounted by a royal crown of elaborate form. Flanking the shield, the assayer's letter and denomination marks are partially visible. The shield is set within a beaded inner circle, with a partial Latin legend in the outer border reading ET INDIARVM REX. The overall strike is characteristic of the early cob coinage produced at Lima under Philip II. |
