| Obverse description | Armored and draped bust of Charles III facing right, struck under the reign of Charles IV, occupying the central field. The circumferential legend reads CAROLUS IV DEI GRATIA, interrupted by dot separators, with the date 1789 positioned in the lower exergual area beneath the effigy. The portrait displays the characteristic laureate-style hair treatment associated with the bust type inherited from the previous reign. The entire design is enclosed within a finely milled border. |
