| Obverse description | Armored and laureate bust of King Carlos III facing right, rendered in the bust style characteristic of the early Guatemala mint coinage. The effigy displays the king with curled hair tied at the nape and truncated drapery at the shoulder. The circular legend CAROLUS III DEI GRATIA surrounds the bust, with the mint date 1772 positioned in the lower exergue. The entire design is enclosed within a finely reeded border. |
