Obverse description Crude hammered field bearing a three-line Arabic kufic inscription arranged within a plain rectangular frame. The legend reads 'al-Amir / Abu Bakr / ibn Umar', identifying the Almoravid ruler. The lettering is boldly raised against a flat, unadorned field typical of small Almoravid fractional silver coinage. The flan is irregular and slightly clipped at the edges, consistent with hand-struck production of the period.

Reverse description Hammered field with a three-line Arabic kufic inscription divided by horizontal lines into registers. The legend carries the Islamic declaration of faith: 'La ilaha illa Allah / Muhammad rasu / l-Allah' (There is no god but God / Muhammad is the messenger of God). The script is characteristic of Almoravid small silver fractional coinage, with angular kufic letterforms. The flan is irregular, showing the typical characteristics of hand-struck hammered coinage of the 11th–12th century Maghreb.
