Obverse description Facing bust of Nāṣer al-Dīn Shāh in the center of the field, depicted in royal attire with a jeweled Qajar crown and a full beard, rendered in a slightly stylized portrait typical of mid-19th-century Iranian coinage. Flanking the royal effigy on either side are cartouches bearing the royal title in Persian nastaliq script. A decorative wreath of olive or laurel branches frames the lower portion of the design, encircling the base of the portrait. A fine milled border runs along the coin's periphery.
