Reverse description The reverse is printed in dark violet on a pale ground and is dominated by two large rosette guilloche vignettes flanking a central text panel, with the denomination fraction 1/2 repeated at left and right margins within ornate borders. The issuing authority name NATIONAL BANK OF LIBYA runs across the top in serif capitals, and the central panel carries the legal tender clause above the large denomination legend HALF LIBYAN POUND in bold intaglio lettering. A lower inscription panel states the note is issued in the name of King Idris I in accordance with the law of 26th April 1955.
