The upper portion bears the Urdu/Persian legend in Arabic script, while the lower register presents the equivalent Devanagari text. The lettering is boldly engraved though somewhat roughly executed, consistent with the utilitarian character of early nineteenth-century Bengal Presidency copper pice coinage. The border is plain and the flan is irregularly shaped. |
