Obverse description Left-facing crowned effigy of King George V in military uniform, modeled by Sir Bertram Mackennal, occupies the central field. The king wears the Imperial State Crown and is shown in a truncated bust with epaulettes and decorations visible at the shoulder. The circular legend reads GEORGE V KING EMPEROR, disposed around the upper periphery in bold raised Latin capitals. The entire design is contained within a milled border of fine beading.

Reverse description The central field bears the denomination 1/2 PICE, separated by a horizontal rule from the issuer name INDIA and the date below, all presented in bold raised Latin capitals within a raised inner circle of beads. This central cartouche is surrounded by an elaborate continuous wreath of stylized flowering vines and foliage rendered in high relief, itself enclosed within a further beaded border aligned with the milled coin edge.
