| Additional information |
The Kingdom of Sedang was a short-lived micronation in the Central Highlands of present-day Vietnam, proclaimed in 1888 by French adventurer Marie-Charles David de Mayréna, who styled himself King Marie I. It lasted roughly two years before collapsing amid debt and international indifference. This 2021 issue is a modern fantasy piece — no ½ Piastre coinage was ever struck for Sedang during its actual existence.
